NYC Weekend

I had so much fun with my best friend and her two boys. She gave me permission to post photos that I took with them all around town! The NYC marathon tried to stop us but we managed to do a bunch of tourist things and still have a s-load of fun! Lady Liberty said What'up! We were Moonstruck & Wicked! The place was like a Zoo...It was such Bull!

I love going to NY. One of the strangest events I have ever witnessed happened to me at the Olive Garden in Time Square. One very flamboyant gay guy was celebrating his boy friends birthday. The entire story is too long to post here, but it ended with him signing happy birthday to Joshua and the rest of the restaurant like Marilyn Monroe. Only in NY!!!

You think that's strange? You gotta go walk around on St. Marks Place. Did you see the naked cowboy playing his guitar in times sq? He's always out there in his underwear. I used to see him on my way to & from work. Good times!

This trip was in January and pretty cold. I did not see the naked Cowboy. Maybe he was afraid of shrinkage. I was looking for him. I did not go to St Marks Place. Is that a street or an area. I will have to look it up next time I go. What is on St. Mark St? It is fun to hit the tourist spots, but it is more interesting when you get off the main drag and see what really goes on in NY.

St Marks is on the lower east side. It's a 2 block strip of freaks & i love it. I got a few piercings at Andromeda & they have cool vintage shops but mostly when it's warm out it's just piercing & tatt's and skittle colored hair!

I usually cut through for fun or to pick up offensive t-shirts for people. I love going to a bar/resturant in the area called Xunta. Yummy!

There's also a ton of people who've lived on St Marks and cool history. Check out Wikipedia. (sp?)

Cool, I am there. We have have work in NY and I am trying to get a trip out of it. If you have any pictures of St Mark, post them somewhere. I would love to see them.
No one is here today. I think I am going to sneek out of here early. Have a good weekend and watch your knee pits:)

You're just not gonna let that go! There are photos on wiki. you can see the piercing/tat shop i used to frequent. I never took photos down there. If you come to NYC I'll hook you up with a list of good resturants & places off the beaten path as well as some tourist places that aren't as common! let me know when you go!! hopefully u can come over here before it's too cold. also i know a ton of places that u can hit for handbags for ur wife. I can probably set u up with some discounts or sample sales if they are going on during ur trip.

It kind of reminds me of South St. in Philly. I will have to go there when I go. I love those kinds of places.

It is always so hard to know where to go when you go to a new city. You just have to be brave and walk into the hole in the wall places and take your chances. I love trying the street vendor foods too.

That would be really nice. This is just what my wife needs is another handbag along with some more jewelry. Good thing she is not into shoes or I would have to bring a separate suite case just for her.

I have a major shoe issue!!! I get a clothing allowance from work and lucky for me it helps with the shoe habit. I'll bitch about paying the car payment, cable and other things yet think nothing about dropping $700 on Christian Louboutin strappy heels! So lucky for me..I get tons of free crap to barter for those pretty red soled shoes! I don't have kids of my own yet so I try to justify it! I'm bad!

I think we all have something we like to spend our money on. As long as it does not get in the way of the important stuff, it is ok. I like to buy tools. I have a garage full. I use them all the time. So I can justify buying them. And the wife does have a nice shoe, jewelry and clothing collection, she just does not buy all of the expensive stuff and tries to buy it on sale.

You work in the industry, so it is kind of important that you have the nice stuff.

I am lucky to have friends at Burberry, Dior, Carolina, Badgley, and Dolce. I usually trade a couple of pieces to my pals but the two designers I do work for keep me in style. I just got a sweet pair of boots for free! ($1,700 retail) In heels I'm very tall!! I've never missed a bill/meal for my "habit". I LOVE TOOLS!!! I can totally get that about any guy. The satisfaction I get from building and creating is amazing! I also LOVE the lumber aisle in Home Depot. I look @ it & see endless possibilities!!! It's also fun to hack shit up!!

Dang, $1,700.00 for a pair of boot or a cabinet table saw? Boots saw boots saw. Saw wins out.... Other than the name, can you explain why a pair of boots cost $1700.00? Or a pair of Jimmy Choo's cost $800.00? I am not trying to sound cheep, I am all for paying for quality. Are these shoes only made by blind left handed pigmies?

I have gotten to the point where the stuff at Home Depot does not do much for me. I want the better stuff and exotic hard woods professional grade tools.

You would have had a blast when we remodel our kitchen. In less than two hours, we had all of the cabinets ripped out and the floor stripped to the concrete. These were really cheep cabinets.

I have a ton of CL's. 1st off Jimmy Choos & are made for shit! I picked up a pair and could see the glue! I am HUGE on designer philosophy. Vera Wang put pockets in her ball gowns and made strapless gowns first. CL designed shoes to accomidate women who were advised not to scratch the floor on the Museum of Oceanic art. So you get a beautiful red sole the runs all down the inside of the heel. I have some prive that with the platform are 5" heels. Anything over 3.5-4 are uncomfortable and/or taking some skin with them. These just never hurt my feet. I have vera's & stuart witzmans, and so many others and some have blood stains inside! I took ballet for years so I'm not sensitive. They are comfortable, sexy as hell (fun to keep on during...) and I love that the sole is so distinctive.

Now as far as tools and wood, I'm still learning and my usage doesn't exceed what they have to offer. I saw this amazing wood at a little boutique & it was imported from some far off place. It was to die for. They made this amazing bed frame out of it. It was so lush and SO SOLID! I must have pet it for a half hour! I understand what you're saying. (DID I MENTION HOW SEXY THE SHOES ARE?!?!?! They are the type of shoe you wear with nothing else while getting it on right on the kitchen table. With that heel length they are perfect to hold onto as wellto adjust leg incline if you're on top! Get ur wife a pair. It'll be on!) Sorry...wood, yes... I get it. I do love to make closet organizers and the cubbies for the attic. I do so want to sledge hammer something! Let me post this and then I'll tell ya all about the day I fucked the freezer up with a chisel... oops!

NotANiceGirl said...

cont'd... Sorry for the long post but these are things I'm passionate about besides my old Mustang, art, MOVIES, and music- I need to post a photo of the new old Stang I may buy...

So I was in my little office and I wanted to get the Vodka that was in the freezer of my mini fridge (liquid Friday). So the stupid little freezer door iced over since the last time and I couldn't open it. I was a bit stressed due to a certain evil editor from Vogue coming to look at the collection. So I go down to design and grab a chisel & a hammer and start chipping away. I got a bit carried away & hit it so hard that it went through the wall of the fridge part and the damn thing started spraying freeon (sp?) or some other vapor. I guess I hit a coyle. So I snuck the tools back, closed it up and just called maintenance once there was a puddle around it. "I don't know, it just stopped working!!!" I have never felt so blonde! Sorry..I know I'm gabbing away. The appt w/the surgeon is today & I get this way when I'm nervous.... I'll let u know how it goes tomm.

Those last two post covered a lot of ground. The only reason I mentioned Jimmy Choo's is that is about the only designer name I know of that make shoes. I live in Jeans and casual shirts. Today I have my Hard Rock Denver shirt on and a pair of Levis. Thursday I have to give a presentation to the City of Merced and I have to wear a tie, that sucks, but I don't have to do it very often. I know the shoes look hot and sexy and if they don't hurt your feet, they are worth their weight in gold. It just amazes me that these little almost nothing shoes cost $800 or $1000 dollars. I just bought a new pair Avia running shoes. They were on sale for $29.99 at JC Penny's.

Good job with the chisel and the frige. I think you can toss that in the trash. They are only about $50 bucks at Costco.

The evil editor from Vogue would not be a Glenn Close looking lady from the Devil wears Prada? I am sure that movie was more fact than fiction.

That is a nice way to end you post, I have an appointment with a surgeon. That is usually not a good thing unless you are getting a boob job. It is nice you can drink at work. They just barely let us bring our camera phones to work. We would get fired if we brought booze to work.

So let me know how things go with the surgeon and the evil Vogue editor.

The girl who wrote the book did work at Vogue & having worked with and around these people- the movie was a bit softer but yeah that whole, "Where is that piece of paper I had in my hand last week" shit is typical. The best was when Vera screamed at her assistant to get her a fucking tampon in a room full of people. That's just mean.

Mostly you buy the name when you spend it. The materials are better quality but they aren't nearly as expensive to produce. I get 70% off wholesale so I make out very well when I don't get it on my allowance.

I won't pay for the new fridge. I just pushed it into an empty office and took theirs. We all got them after lunches were stolen. Then they were mostly used for drinks anyway. I wear jeans every day except for when the black dress code but they have to be designer jeans. I love skirts but when I need to wear pantyhose I f-them up with equipment. The 1700.00 boots are suede & come just above the knee (J.Lo has been wearing them on stage) but I get what ur saying.

So meeting w/the surgeon re that cyst not a boob job. I'd look dumb with giant boobs. They are quite respectable for my height & build. Maybe someday but not now. Just going to see if they need to cut this thing out. I'm hoping not but if they do I'll be laying around for a bit stoned out of my tree on painkillers! Woo-hoo! Oh and I do so love the anesthesia! It's fun to try to battle the knock out! Can't they just drug me up & give me a week off?

Jimbo said...

Not all boob jobs are the Pam Anderson or porn star size boobs. I have seen many women that get them bumped up to B's or C's and look really good. I am not sugesting you need them either. I hope the cyst thing is nothing serious.

The last time I was in the hospital for any kind of surgery was when I was 4. I have no idea what any of these drugs do for you. I don't get sick or get head aches so I have missed out on all of the fun. I can't remember the last time I had a persrciption drug.

That is good that you get 70% off retail. That make them affordable. And yes, you told me how sexy they make you look. :)

NotANiceGirl said...

I wasn't just saying how sexy I look, I'm saying all women. Seriously- get your wife a nice pair. They do wonders for the legs and ass and the bedroom. The little red soles are magic!

So the dr went pretty well. He said that during the exam he didn't feel anything so it may have dissolved- though I hear they are extremely painful when that happens so I think I'd have noticed but we're doing follow-up tests and he's very nice. I felt SO comfortable with him right off so I'm in good spirits.

I didn't think you were implying that I need work but I have a very respectable cup size and it suits my build is all I was saying. I'd look fake even with a modest boob job & really- if I'm not gonna pump them suckers up- what's the point of going through all that? I'm happy with my body 99% of the time.

As far as the painkillers-I got some great stuff when they took 3 of my wisdom teeth. Then after my car accident last year- WOW! I don't partake otherwise. They practically keep the stuff in candy dishes at work. I see so much pill popping or whatever you want to call it, that it just amazes me every person isn't in or on their way to rehab! Though we all pretty much drink...ahhhh,good times! So I have a new J dilemma- nothing sick & twisted (sorry to disappoint!) I just need a male opinion. I'll create the post sometime after I eat lunch. sorry bout the length & any typos

Jimbo said...

The wife already has a very nice pair. They keep me very happy. I will have to figure out what she likes and if and when I come to NY on business, I will hit you up for some of the hot spots to get them.

I am glad to hear the cyst is not a big deal right now. I know I will not make a good patient in the hospital if I ever get stuck there for more than 20 minutes. They will have to give me the good drugs just to keep me in bed.

I will be awaiting your J post. It is OK if it is not sick or twisted. The other one that I will not bring up was just too funny. Sorry I got such a good laugh at your expense.

Be patient with me...my computer is not being good. It's boring. He's basically jealous but I want to give you all the details so I can get your opinion. OH & GUESS WHAT!?!?! He was very persistent in asking me to get married the other night. He wants to get married right away. I think this is a panic proposal push. I said if & when it happens it'll be done right. We had a plan and now he's jumping the gun! Pisses me off. I will try to get the post up today but I keep getting eror messages.

I am heading out for the day. I have my fun filled road trip tomorrow to the beautiful city of Merced. Woo Hoo. Now if I were only going to Yosemite that would be a different story. I have been trying to get out of this trip for a week. Somehow I impressed them and I am giving the major part of the presentation. Go figure... Anyway, I will be looking forward to your post Friday morning.

NotANiceGirl said...

I'll have some details up soon. This has turned into a 2 day & counting brawl! it's just ridiculous.

Jimbo said...

I am back. My Merced trip was so much fun! Is the Brawl still going on?

NotANiceGirl said...

Yes. I finally got to post. There's probably a ton of things that have been said but it's getting ugly - very fast.
